Flying the flag for the North West Our second annual Social Weekend as we emerge from the pain caves and into the spring sunlight. It's a time to run, bike and swim with old and new friends and just enjoy our sport together. The athletes arrived over the Friday evening to settle into their accomodation. Well, all except Steve, who turned up 3 hours earlier than anyone else and immediatelty dived in - to his hot-tub. By the time anyone else turned up he was so wrinkled we n

Series Results - Individuals
For the first time we will now be able to also produce a league table of riders results, thanks to the use of the ZwiftPower system. At the end of the series, this shows us the results rewarding both performance and commitment, as those riders who make all the races for their club feature most prominently. There are over 380 riders represented in these results, so for this post we will just show some top 20s. After the whole series we have the top 20 MVPs as follows: Series

Series Results - Teams
After 10 weeks of racing, and 38 races with over 375 racers, it's all over for another year. It's been another season where we have had some first: First use of Zwift Power meaning that individual riders can see instant results including power data. First TT race, responding to requests from some riders for a TT race - this year quite a tough hill climb First Womens race, which seemed to be a great success, again responding to feedback. First series where we record both teams

Grand Finale Results
So we've had the final race. Some 138 brave souls completed the final tough event with a couple of circuits including those awful cobbled climbs. Before going onto the results, first let me thank everyone who took part, encouraged others, and a special thank you to the Captains who got so many of you involved. I also want to apologise that sometimes it takes a while to get the results out. Sometimes it is because (as it turns out) I have other things to do or places to be,

Team Standings with 1 race to go...
Team Standings before the final race So on Tuesday 10th March at 19:45 we have the Grand Finale. Everyone in! This is an every rider for themselves race with some tough climbs and a slightly longer distance. Normally a flat start with some early drafting before the cobbled climbs start to split people up. In this race the rider points are added to produce a Club Score - not breaking you up into A, B, C teams etc. There are double points on offer, so the winning club scores

Women's Race Results
Responding to requests, we held our first Women's Race this week, with almost 50 riders ona flat course to make it all abot the drafting and the sprint. Looks like it was a great race with the first 8 finishing within 1 second of each other. Congrats to Ewa Leja from Wyre as the top womens racer this year. Also congrats to Susie Kirkham from Wyre as the top points scorer thanks to her age bonus. We hear that this was a first race for a number of riders so we hope you enjo

Overall standings after Heroes Week
As I type this the women are just recovering from their efforts in our first ever women's race. Initial feedback seems to be that it was a great success. I will get to compiling those results tomorrow, but that gives me time to report the team standings after Heroes Week. Results after Heroes Week

Heroes Week Results
Thanks to the Captains for checking my workings in trying to compare races across the 3 days. There were over 200 results to compare so hopefully we have it right - but do feel free to point out any differences. Close racing in the Men's with 3 tying for the top 3 places.. Quick times from the fastest men If you see Paul Lupton repeated it was because he was fastest AND over 50 for Bolton. Good work Paul. Here are your 50+ heroes.... Oldies but very goodies Warming up for

After the Head to Head Races
After 7 weeks of racing, the Kick Off races, the Time Trial and now the 5 Head-to-Head Races for each team, we have the current team standings: Standings after week 7 So Rochdale have a perfect score so far at the top of the table, and Wyre are only behind them from the results onm the Kick Off Races. It's tight! In Heroes Week there are a maximum of 12 points to be had. Only the fastest member of each club will have a counting score in the Male, Female, Male over 50, Femal

Serpentine v Barbarians - Week 7
The last of the Head-to-Heads. Jose Antonio from Serpentine took the win but it was Nic Browne who was MVP and scored the most points. Rider Scores However, the Barbarains recruiting from all over the North West got enough riders involved such that they drew level with the number of completions. By 1 rider! So Lucy, Doug and Miranda may have come in as the last 3, but they made the difference! Those last couple of riders drew the Barbarians level So that's it for the head

Rochdale v Trident - Week 7
A really well attended race as we near the business end of the competition. Rochdale dominated the top spots with A Watty leading a group of 7 home in the lead. It was Anthony Watson just behing him who was the MVP. Great performance from Suzie Taroni for Trident - certainly someone to watch in next week's Heroes race. A lot of riders! Again, with numbers and performances, Rochdale score maximum points, but Trident do well to get the 9 points with their A Team. Big scores

Mersey v Tri Lakeland - Week 7
A tight finish as Dan Waller, the Mersey Captain squeaked over the line just ahead of Lee Bawxter from Tri Lakeland. However, by virtue of age, Lee Baxter was the biggest points socrer in this race. Sophie Billingham continued her good form in being the first woman home. Rider Points It's Mersey who take top spot though by virtue of their superior numbers in this race Team Points

Bolton v Manchester - Week 7
Chappers from Tri Fit puled clear despite the cpoure being designed to support those who can draft. However, Paul Lupton from Bolton was the MVP scoring the most rider points. Good to see Laysuan from Bolton making the A team with her 9th place finish. Bolton v Manchester Rider Positions A strong performance from Bolton as a team gave them a strong win for the A Team. Team Scores That's the last of the head-to-head races for these teams as we enter Heroes Week. Can the Bol

Adapted v Wyre - Week 7
The Greater London Flat course was chosen by one of the Captains to create some close racing. Phil Ellison was able to just pip Jonny Winward from Wyre at the finish and the results seem to suggest there were a series of sprints between the various groups. Ewa Leja from Wyre continued her consistent strong point scoring for Wyre. Rider positions - Adapted v Wyre As ever, Wyre turn up in numbers and race strongly, so it is no surprise to see them getting top spot in the Team

Chester v Total Tri - Week 7
Just the 6 riders from Chester in this race, but they took 6 of the 7 top places in this race. It was Nigel Smith from Chester who finished first, clear of the rest and scored the most points. Special mention to Victoria Moody-Smith from Total who made it into the A team for them. Chester dominate the top of the sheet Good numbers from Total mean that their A-Team matches Chester in points scored. Total numbers make the difference.
