Nigel Smith from Chester chased home Phil Ellison from Endurance with a gap of under half a second in what looks like it must have been a close 2-up sprint at the end of this race. Slightly smaller numbers that we normally expect from the Rochdale Team gave the Serpentine riders a chanve, and Alex Pearson grabbed that in winning this event, with Serpentine riders taking 3 of the top 4 slots. Fantastic to see a race in which the majority of riders were women! We want to be inclusive, but great to have the Bolton women dominating the turnout in this race. As one of the key objectives of the whole series is to foster a bit of inter-club co-operation and support, its great to have the Barbarians Team involved, bringing togetehr riders from all over the North West to work together. It's out first time with teams from Adapted Endurance and Manchester in our series, so great to have these teams involved. As the series has become more popular, the burden on Captains in organising their teams, and then scoring the results got greater each year. As a consequence it started to take longer to get the scores out. Over the last week 176 attempts were made at the tough Hilltop Hustle Time trial, with some riders having 3 attempts at the course to set their best time.
