Adapted Endurance v Bolton Week 6
Well done to Ryan Snee and Phil Ellison from Adapted who took the top two places in this race. The next 4 all finished within 1 second of each other, so it looks like there was quite a scrap for the bronze medal. Bolton v Adapted The Bolton team always bring out a great Female squad - so they might be the dark horses for a big score in Week 9. The numbers count, as this pulled the A Team from Bolton level with the Adapted A Team. Team Scores As ever, let your Captain know

Rochdale v Mersey week 6
This looks like it was quiote a race. About 14 riders in the group sprinting for the win. Great to see Sophie Billingham from Mersey making it into that final sprint with this very quick bunch. She scored some big points for Mersey. But it a A WATTY from Rochdale who edged out Dan Waller the Mersey Captain for the win. It was Andrew Napper from Mersey who was the MVP though - scoring 64.4 points. Rochdale v Mersey results This was a big race, with Rochdale getting 6 team

Barbarians v Trident - Week 6
In the final sprint in this race 2 Barbarians and 2 Trident riders fought it out, with Ian Elsby representing the Barbarians coming out on top. However, the MVP for this race was Suzie Taroni, and second was Anna Bradley both from Trident. Good to see that almost a 3rd of the riders in this race were women. This may make Trident the team to beat in week 9. (more of that later). Barbarians v Trident Great numbers from the Trident Team, boosting their rider points in this ra

Week 6 - Lakeland v Serpentine
Another tight one. Alex Pearson from Serpentine beat Lee Baxter from Lakeland across the line by a quarter of a second. This course looks like it threw up some close finishes. Never mind, Lee - by virtue of being older you end up as MVP for this race! Special mention too for Helena Hines from Serpentine who was the fastest female racer. Just a quarter of a second in it! While Serpentine A had the best A team results by a small margin of 6 rider points, the greater numbers

Week 6 - Wyre v Chester
I think we all know that Wyre are on a mission to dent the monopoly that Rochdale have held over this competition in previous years. However, it seems that N Smith from Chester was trying to break P Jagger's monopoly on race wins by pipping him in the sprint to finish first in a very quick time. Looks like it was a good race. Ewa Leja continued her consistent performance as one of the top femal racers, making the Wyre A team with her 12th place finish. Jagger can't get the

Week 6 - Manchester v Total
It's starting to look very much like some trams are practicing for the heroes week, in which learing to ride in teams is key. Five home from Manchester, followed immediately by 4 from Total. Chappers from Manchester was fastest and MVP for this race, dragging a few with him. Special mention to Vicky Moodie-Smith who was MVP for Total, the first woman to finish, and made the Total A team. The extra riders from Total at the back also boosted all the Total team points by giv

Week 5 - Team Positions
Because I am so slow this week, a quick notice of the positions at the end of Week 5. I'll get the week 6 races updated shortly. Week 5 positions You've already raced week 6 so this coming week is the last of the head-to-head races. Last of the head to head races this year As a heads up, the following week - Week 8 - is "Heroes Week". This year there will be races set up for the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evening. Week 5 - Tri Lakeland v Trident
Tri, Tri and Tri again! Again, Lee Baxter from Tri Lakeland got across the line first, and avoided being swamped by the big turnout from Trident. Duck Hen (!) from Trident was their MVP. Rider results That turnout makes a difference, Good turnout. Tight on points, but it was the that support from the number of riders in the Trident team that lifted their A-Team level. As ever, if you spot any mistakes please let your Captains know

Week 5 - Chester v Manchester
The battle of the Chesters. Like the names, this looks to have been one of the most evenly matched races we have had, with simlar rider numbers and the placings a real mix between the 2 clubs. Nigel Smith from Chester edged it with Sam Barratt from Manchester in second. Rider positions The slightly greater numbers from Chester, as well as the point scoring, with Nigel being the MVP means that Chester take the honours. Team Scores I know its a bit late, but if any of this loo

Week 5 - Serpentine v Mersey
A little confusion in compiling the results from this week when we discovered that a rider from Tri Lakeland had infiltrated the race. Perhaps it was tactical? The commisars will have to investigate! Meanwhile, the results suggest there was a tight 4-way sprint for the line with Alex Pearson of Serpentine heading home a trio of club riders, while Tom Kennedy of Mersey got in amongst the scrap. It was Richard Turner who was MVP for this race though. Rider Results In the tea

Week 5 - Rochdale v Barbarians
It's been hectic, and with one more week of head-to-head racing to go I'm working hard to catch up omn producing results. We do get some delays - especially where the set up of riders does not flow through to Zwift Power easily. So please remember you can IMMEDIATELY see your results automatically for individual performances by going to Zwift Power. In this race - which took place a week and a half ago I especially wanted to mention Noah from Rochdale who I think might be a

Week 5 - Total v Adapted Endurance
Yet again Phil Ellison from Adapted put in a stellar performance and won by a big margin. Victoria Moody-Smith was the first woman home making the Total A Team in the process. Mike Webster, Lyndsey Granton and Julie Cullen may have been the last 3 home, but their presence helped make Total the larger of the 2 sqauds and boosted to points total of Victoria making her actually the MVP of the whole event! Humble brag - I've been away and in the Pyrenees for a week! Hence the delay in getting scores out for week 5. However, do remember that you can always check results immediately after you have finished on Zwfit Companion or on Zwift Power. The link for this race is: https://zwiftpower.com/events.php?zid=5411834 So hopefully you've not felt the loss too much. Club Points after 4 weeks So we've had 40 teams from the clubs over the 4 weeks. The amended scoring system has made it tight at the top, with the big turn-out at in the Kick Off races being all that is keeping Rochdale A above Wyre A. Keep battling!

Week 4 Rider Results
Some of you are a (little) competitive! That's a good thing, so here is a little data from Week 4 which you might find interesting. Top 2 times on the Richmond Rollercoaster As we have all been racing the same course, we can compare times across all riders. Paul Jagger from Wyre clearly smashed this course with a big win against all others. Unusual to see no-one from Rochdale in this list. Of course, the way a race plays out out the time of week (compared to club nights) e

Week 4 - Barbarians v Tri Lakeland
The top 3 finishing spots were rtaken by Tri Lakeland in this race, with Lee Baxter coming out on top. Congrats to Chris Watson from Roessendale who was the quickest of the Barbarians. Rebecca Watson was the fastest woman home and made the Tri Lakeland A Team with her finishing score. Rider positions from Barbarians and Tri Lakeland Tri Lakeland got 3 teams out, and so also earned the Club Bonus for their teams. Team Scores Please let me know - or your Captains - if you see

Week 4 - Wyre v Manchester
I'm aware that I'm still curning results from week 4 as week 5 races are already completing. Apologies. It's been a bigger job than expected - but that's great because it fres up the Captains from having to score as well as organise the races, and it meanse there are loads of you raciing. Nearly 400 of you have completed at least 1 race so far. Apology over... In contrast to some of the big turnouts of women's riders last week, just one female rider this week. So well don

Week 4 - Chester v Adapted Endurance
Nigel Smith from Chester chased home Phil Ellison from Endurance with a gap of under half a second in what looks like it must have been a close 2-up sprint at the end of this race. It also meant that Nigel was the top point scorer in this race, being a 50+ racer compared to Phil who is a comparatively youthful Veteran! Special mention to Gaynor Beckett as the first woman across the line in the Chester B Team Rider results Those bonus points from the last few racers from Endu
