The kick-off races are completed and the scores are being drawn up for the TT week. Now the head-to-head races are about to begin. The following is a little refresh for all on how these work and how the scores will be calculated. There are some developments again from previous years based around feedback from racers and Captains in the 2025 series.
Each week riders from one Club are pitched against another in a 10-mile head-to-head race. The 'home team' Captain sets up the race on a day and time agreed with the 'away team' Captain. This year, the course for the week is set for everyone so that we can compare races and produce some individual race results as well as Team results.

Riders from the correct club go to the Zwift Companion, look in the events set up within the Tri NW England Zwift Racing 2026 Zwift Club and join the event. It is important that riders have their correct Zwift Profile set up, and also have their settings linking their Zwift account to the ZwiftPower service. You can check how to do that here: https://youtu.be/Mkp_l6SDoLE
IF YOU DO NOT HAVE YOUR LINK TO ZWIFTPOWER SET UP CORRECTLY YOUR RESULTS WILL NOT APPEAR IN THE SCORING SYSTEM

When joining your event, please take care to check that you have the correct race as there will be several events set up each week, and some will be on the same date and time. Normally Captains try to make the title of the event clear.
After the race, the results are immediately shown in the Zwift Companion showing the individual performances. They are also transmitted to the ZwiftPower ap. Riders can check their results there including detail on their power and heart-rate data. The ZwiftPower ap automatically categorises the riders by gender and age as long as this is correctly set up in the rider's Zwift Profile and their Zwift account is set to share their data. While Captains will try to correct errors, it is not easy to find all the errors if profiles are not correctly set up.
This year we will be compiling individual results across the series by ranking the race completion times across all the races that take place on the same course. This data will only be available after all the races in each week have taken place and will be shared on this website.
Race Scoring
Once a race has been completed each individual rider will be awarded points for their individual finishing position. For example, if there are 15 riders in a race, the first place finisher will be awarded 15 base points, 2nd place will get 14 base points, etc.
Female riders receive a bonus of 50% of their base points.
Riders receive an age bonus based on their age category as a percentage of their base points. Riders who have not provided data on their age in the Zwift Ap or have not shared it with ZwiftPower are defaulted to Senior
Age | Age Category | Bonus |
Under 18 | Junior | 25% |
18-29 | Senior | no bonus |
30-39 | Master | 10% |
40-49 | Veteran | 25% |
50-59 | 50+ | 40% |
60 and above | 60+ | 50% |
An individual's riders Race Score is their Base Score, plus their Gender Bonus, plus their Age Bonus.

To determine the Team points we take the individual race data and manipulate it as follows:
We collect the finishing position of the riders from each club and make up teams of 6 by taking the highest scoring riders 6 from a club and calling them the 'A' Team. We then take the next 6 highest scoring riders from the same club and call them the 'B' Team and so on until all the riderrs who have completed the course are allocated to a Team. This will mean that there may well be one team within each Club that has fewer than 6 riders. Note - riders are ordered by the points they score, so age and gender points will make Female and older finishers more valuable than their finishing position in the race.
We then take the total number of points of all 6 riders in each Team to create a Team Total.
The Team with the highest number of points in a race will be allocated 10 points. The next highest Team Total will get 9 points, etc. If there are more than 10 teams in the race then all finishing teams outsider the top 10 will get 1 point.
Finally, all Teams in the Club with the highest number of finishing riders will receive an additional point.
This may all sound complicated. The system is designed to ensure the following:
Every rider counts. Not only do they get their own score, but every completing rider actually improves the chances of the faster riders in the club.
Tactics and co-operation may help. Working to get a group of your team-mates across the line together as fast as possible will score better than one fast rider disappearing up the road on their own.
Age before beauty! You may find that dedicating some riders to help a female rider or an older rider achieve a better result may improve the scores for your club and your team.
Each successive week, the 'A' Team from each club will accumulate points, as will the 'B' Team. This will mean that the 'A' Team will not be the same individuals every week, and so it is possible that many different riders over the weeks will contribute to the eventual points total that will make up your A team result. This does mean that (unlike prior years) your B team score cannot overtake your A team score, but everyone in the club, regardless of finishing position, will be helping to build your A team score.
We will try to produce results as quickly as possible working with the ZwiftPower ap, and will try to publish race results as well as club and team results on the LMEnts website. (Thanks to LMEnts for funding the cost of the website for this purpose).
This means that riders will be able to see individual results on Zwift Companion, Zwift Power and the website, while Club and Team results will also be available on the website.
Weekly updates should be available and notified to all riders who subscribe tpo the LMEnts website.
