Zwift 2026 - Race 1 - 6th Jan

What a start to the series! 173 riders completed the first mad race. The race was designed to allow pretty much everyone to get a taste of a fast start, create some small splits with early short climbs, and then generally flat so people could get used to a bit of drafting.

This year we will be shouting out individual and team perfoemances.

Special congrats to Alex Pearson from Serpentine for winning the first race.

Honourable mention to Scott Mossop from Lakeland with an average power of 377w across the race. However that is 4.4w/kg which compares to Alf Bundy's 4.9w/kg. (So time to shed some of those mince pies, Scott!). Obviously having fat shamed a rider I will now be reporting myself to HR....

Mo Dawood from Rochdale was the first woman home in 31st place - so top 20%

Simon Ashworth from Wyre was the first 50+ rider, while Des Thorpe from Rochdale was the first 60+ rider.

Meanwhile the hardest working heart award goes to Jemma Graham and John Dougherty who both hit 200bpm! Steady on. Mind you, at 220 minus your age, that means you must both be 20 years old! (The maths don't lie)

If you'd like to watch it back, then one of the Rochdale riders (who clearly has not enough to do with their life) has provided a YouTube replay....

On this page you will be able to see power numbers and other data too.

There are 13 riders who completed the race but did not have the link to Zwift Power set up correctly, so their results have not appeared on the ZwiftPower results page. If that is you then check out the videos on how to make sure your settings are correct:

Race 2 is tonight on the same course and open to all. You can join here:
